TEMPE, AZ | ABC15 Arizona | Phoenix Business Journal — The International Arena League today confirmed that arena football is returning to Arizona’s East Valley this spring with the launch of the Arizona Juggernauts, a new professional franchise that will play its home games at Mullett Arena on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, marking another key expansion market as the league prepares for its inaugural season.

According to reporting published by ABC15 Arizona, the Juggernauts will play their home games at Mullett Arena, the home of Sun Devils hockey. It is a notable landing spot for a new indoor football brand, placing the team in a high visibility setting with built in game night infrastructure.

The International Arena League has stated it will launch in April, with an inaugural format that includes 14 games per team, split evenly with seven home games and seven road games. The league has also indicated its footprint includes teams in both the United States and Europe.

For the East Valley, the Juggernauts announcement adds another pro indoor option to the market while giving the IAL a serious venue for Year 1. With schedules and league details continuing to take shape, the early headline is clear: Tempe is getting arena football, and it is arriving on a major campus stage.

Quick take

Mullett Arena is a strong home base for a new franchise. It is modern, centrally located on ASU’s campus, and sets the Juggernauts up with a credible game day environment as the IAL launches in April.
